Labor/Birth Doula- My goal is to provide a nurturing environment, be a reassuring and constant presence; calmly and skillfully help laboring women (and their partners) cope with the intensity of labor and birth.
- Two prenatal visits to discuss your pregnancy, your birth wishes, and any other specific concerns.
- Available for questions via phone or email as soon as services contracted
- Be on-call 24/7 beginning two weeks prior to your due date until the birth
- Early labor support at your home, if desired.
- Continuous support for you and your partner during active labor and delivery.
- Immediate postpartum support at the place of birth (about two hours).
- A postpartum visit at home to review your birth experience and help with any feeding or parenting issues.
- Access to my large (and constantly growing) birthing library
- Recommendations for reading materials that may be helpful for your particular birth experience.
- Help or referrals for support regarding pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Most women who have had a doula with them for their births are more satisfied with the experience, and would never do it another way if given the opportunity!
