Whole-Hearts:
Labor/Birth Doula & Childbirth Education

---
Bringing a new life into the world is momentous and life-changing, and the quality of the care you receive during pregnancy and birth can make all the difference to the kind of parent you become. It is my passion to whole-heartedly support women as they go through their childbearing year, offering both childbirth classes and my services as a labor/birth doula.

A doula is a trained non-medical professional who accompanies women in labor to help ensure a satisfying birth experience.   With  emotional support, physical comfort and education, I am there to help you achieve the type of birth that you want. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and many other comfort measures.

In my classes, I walk you and your partner through a normal labor, how it begins & progresses.  We talk about comfort measures to be used during pregnancy, labor, and afterwards during your post-partum period.  Relaxation methods, movement, the effects of water, and coping strategies... the role of nutrition, breast feeding, the choices you face regarding your birth and the parts of birth you can and cannot control.

As I am independent and self-employed, I will be working for you, not your care provider or hospital. I believe that birth is a normal physiological process and an important journey in a mother and father’s life.

It is my goal to help you embrace your journey as a parent joyously, and with your whole heart .
